Happy April from an April Fool

I hate April 1.

Why would a person hate April 1?

Yup, you got it: because they are a sucker.

I am a sucker.

Fitting, I suppose, after making a snide comment about Jacob on my post here yesterday that I would go straight to his blog this morning and fall completely for his I-quit-my-job-and-will-never-blog-again line of bullshit and proceed to leave a long, heartfelt comment in response.

To be fair, he does hate his job and is generally dissatisfied with life, so I'm actually thinking he had this post written long ago and was keeping it on file for the right occasion, sort of like how newspapers around the world have a thirty-year-old cobwebbed folder containing the premature obits for Keith Richards, Fidel Castro and Liza Minelli.

But I'm a good sport. Next time I see him I will give that beer-swilling chicken farmer a swift kick in the nuts and all will be forgotten.

Happy April, kids, and shame on any of you for making fools of us poor, defenseless suckers.

I'm not so much a fan of getting tricked. I prefer Halloween, where you have the option of giving treats OR getting tricked. Hell, I'll give out candy all day if it means I don't have to deal with a bunch of lying miscreants.

I guess I know to take everything with a grain of salt on April 1, but I still don't like getting suckered either! I think I'm glad I read this before going to Jacob's blog...

I got tricked by gmail this morning, but other than that, no one's tried to pull anything on me.

that was me, btw. Silly blogger posts before I want it to just because I hit "enter."

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of April one. I am a big fan of the word miscreant though. It's a good word.

Okay, so I am not a fan of being tricked, but apparently I am a fan of tricking others. I just totally convinced my sister I was pregnant and then she called me crying as my Principal was walking by and I had to whisper "April Fool's!" and hang up.

I do enjoy a good April Fools joke, so long as it does not continue on too long, nor cause me to actually do something foolish in response.

Speaking of Halloween, it bugs me that kids say "trick or treat," but if you do indeed give them a trick you're considered an asshole. Their parents might even sue you, depending on how bad the trick is.

Today I convinced someone that Porn was invented in Mexico, and that is why we call it porno.

it is just to much fun. i treat everyday as if it was april 1 except when i write a check or have to date something. if you really want to trick somebody, you dont have to wait until today you moron, do it whenever you want to. you might forget about it before the next 4-1 comes along.

npw- So you're all about the bribery.

meaghan- I could stay ahead of the game if only I knew what day it was, ever.

noelle- Your blog actually tipped me off as to this holiday for deceitful bastards, just a little too late.

allie- It is that.

npw- That's just evil, unless she's one of those who keeps wishing you would have a kid, in which case she had it coming.

chris- Opting for the trick takes some balls.

beej- That does make sense.

hightower- More wise words from a wise man.

a kick in the nuts seems a little drastic man, maybe just a punch in the neck?

We get an e-mail ever year at work warning us of April Fools pranks. I'm perhaps a bit overly cautious today.

April is my favorite month.

Yeah. I'd like to thank you for ruining the whole thing by not only commenting after the first three concerned posts that you finally realized it was a joke, but also slapping the expose on your own site, which apparently all of my readers check before mine. It was bad enough with the comment, but at least then some people would have at least believed it until getting to the comments.

Hank told me to hide the comments to save the joke, and I did for a while, but realized it was pointless with your big "He's lying!" post.

If you hadn't made such a big deal out of it during your seven posts over 30 minutes this morning, I'd be a little pissy at you right now. At least I got a good laugh out of one dupe before said dupe pooped all over my party.

You do realize that this is the April Fool's version of a cock block, right? That's right. You are that guy.

I too hate April Fools day. I just take everyone at their word, it's just how I roll.

surviving myself- No mercy.

modern gal- If only I had a similar warning.

em- Yes, otherwise April is pretty cool (or Crescent Fresh, if you prefer.)

jacob- For about half a second I considered allowing other people to join me in fooldom before realizing that my only reasonable recourse would be to sell the ruse out from under you. Mission accomplished. I may have isolated myself as the only fool, but I ruined your joke. Yay me!

vanessa- I'm a skeptic and completely untrusting, yet I still fall for things.

Jacob did not fool me but I did get fooled by not getting April fooled.

I heard on the radio on the way to work that NKOTB was getting back together. Ha, ha. I didn't buy it for a second. Wha? Holy shit. They were serious?!
