I only put this on here after checking some other people's first. Ouch.

Damn. This graphic has an advertisement at the bottom. I didn't see it at first. I'll let everyone have their fun, but then I'm gonna have to remove it. Can't be letting the Man take over my page.

But you're cool with leaving yourself comments?

Somebody has to.

Hm. I'll have to try this out.

Also, I assume you have run your coworker's blog through this program?

Well, after a thorough analysis (I checked four websites) I think this program is reasonably accurate.

I have no idea how (or why) this does what it does. But I got these results:

-My blog: College/undergrad
-Your coworker's blog: Junior high
-Jacob's Little Man Evan blog (which is mostly photos): Elementary
-A Ph.D. dissertation from an MIT student titled "Nanometer-Scale Placement in Electron-Beam
Lithography" - College/postgrad

So there you go. At least it's a clever cover for a cash advance ad.

True enough, Chris. I agree it seems accurate, but I don't know how. Congratulations on your score, by the way.

I had my feelings hurt that mine kept turning up high school until I realized that high school reading level doesn't mean the level that actual high schoolers read at, but the level at which they're supposed to be reading at. That, and Courtney's is also at a high school level. I think it's because I combine SAT words and long compound-complex sentences with ironic use of dumbass speak. I can't help it. That's just my personal writing style.

I do think it's funny that the English teacher and the grad student write at a lower reading level than you. It doesn't surprise me because I've always had the sneaking suspicion that you were smarter than me (and thus explains my lurking resentment of your existence), just that I'm an English teacher and Courtney's writing two education levels below herself.

It's not really funny that Chris's blog is at a higher level. I've always resented him and it was never a latent resentment.

Well, Jacob, if it makes you feel any better, my further analysis leads me to think this program is somehow flawed. I think an excess of graphics, frames and other design elements somehow influences the calculation.

I checked my work website, Mergermarket.com, as well as Berry College's website, and both came back at Genius reading levels. Come on. Berry's site is pretty basic information (albeit a large collection of it) and the Mergermarket site is filled with a bunch of M&A jargon, corporate speak and financial abbreviations and numbers.
