Rejoice: I am no longer indebted for the cost of my education. I hadn’t planned to pay off my student loan today, but when I logged into my account to put up my usual minimum payment (money’s been tight), I realized that I could cover the remaining balance, large though it was (amazing what a steady paycheck can do for you). So I did. I actually had a completely different topic to cover in my post today, but I’m liking this one at the moment.
Upon graduating from college in 2001, I was saddled with a sizable debt, wholly of my own creation. Berry College considers itself a top value among private institutions of higher education, and I’ve never doubted this claim. Still, it’s not the bargain bin choice, either. In retrospect, I should have gone to Kennesaw State and saved a ton of money considering I still haven’t decided what to major in. I chose a college degree much like musical chairs: whichever one I was holding when I hit the prescribed number of hours, that was it. So I have a degree in journalism even though I’ve never been sold on the idea. But I digress. It took me six years to square up, but I’ve never really felt the pinch, and this from someone who has earned a paycheck on average six months out of each of those years (this is something I’m not proud of; no, wait, yes I am).
Now that it’s paid for, I just need to put my education to work. Any ideas?

You should pursue something that involves environmental conservatism, definitely. It's the one thing you're passionate about (aside from me, of course.)

I agree with Courtney that the environmental field could be good for you. However, I have tried for myself to figure out a way to make a living in it and have yet to come up with anything.
I hear that, Chris. It'd be a lot easier with a science degree. Of course there's PR for advocacy groups, PACs, and the like. I'm not a PR type of guy, though.

I don't think there's anything wrong with doing PR for an advocacy group. In fact, I think you'd be good at it.
Is there any way you could start your own show where people watch you climb big mountains and almost die but don't? I think that would be the perfect job for you. Or is there already one of those?

PR for groups whose sole purpose is to further goals you entirely support isn't even really PR. PR is evil. That is actually a good thing.
Just don't listen to Courtney. She has ulterior motives.
